Post subject: Where does everyone work? |
|
|
Hey everyone! Thought I'd bring this topic back up, since it seems we've found some more members....Just wondering what kind of bar everyone works in. I work in a comedy club in downtown Omaha. Usually 3-5 nights a week. Although tomorrow, I have an interview at a spanking new bar in west omaha called "Nico". VERY nice, got a tour when i was there. its gonna have a huge dedicated martini bar with a 15 foor salt water aquariam and waterfall effect behind it, huge dancefloor with confetti cannons and a very large main bar. Crossing my fingers!
Pipe in people, lets mingle...
Jay

I am currently managing a couple bars in Crested Butte, Colorado and working in a bar down the road in Gunnison.... The ski scene every day and night, tourists, some regulars, more tourists and the same freaking questions over and over... don't get me worng, I have a super time and all of them are great gigs and perfect for me, I have a bit of cabin fever! When the ski mountain closes, so do these bars for the most part, so I pick up more hours at my regular bartending job and manage a country club bar. _________________ The odds are good but the goods are odd. |

Yes, My plate is very full, however I do find plenty of time to have the appropreate ammount of fun, at least enough time to fill the fun quota, that and my skills are coveted and talked about quite widely...... he he he, just kidding. I'm single, so that takes care of whay I work so darn much, if I had a family, I'd probably be pursuing a diffrent career, putting my degree to work as a Public Accountant! _________________ The odds are good but the goods are odd. |

I literally stumbled upon this website yesterday seeking out posted opinions about Cleveland bars and lo and behold this appeared while googling. | Hi there very new to this whole chat thing, but i think i could get used to it. My name is theresa and i live and work in Riverton, Wyoming, it's not a very big place but it is growing, and we have a comunity college so i get alot of student's at work, seen a few crazy night's.. The bar where i work is called Good Time Charlies, We are in the process of remodiling and giving the place a whole new facelift, it's time. We are going with the club theme, reflective lighting and neon's mirrors, strob's lot's of neat stuff should be great, anyway i work alot and can't seem to find time for a personal life, i'v just got to much going on or i'm working , or i'm to exhausted to try. I get alot of offer's but that's part of our job's, and after a while they all run togetherl. so i find it hard to take any of them serious, THIS WAS GOOD FOR ME. Thank's for coming up with where does everyone work, it's nice and i don't feel so all alone. Thank's again. Theresa36 |

Welcome to the board Theresa! Good to see someone new around here. And I think alot of us can relate to the whole...lack of social life... I just started managing the comedy club i work at, so I do that 3 days a week, and the other four days i bartend at another club/martini bar in town. and i just started a day job....8-5.....my social life is all but null and void...oh well, I'm gonna be banking.... _________________ whats the dillio?? |

Welcome! And I too have the "Social Disorder" that many bartenders end up having. Ahh well, such is the nature of the beast!
My dear Jay, I am single, but somewat attached, going nowhere fast though! A little too career oriented to worry about another person and how I affect them on a more "emotional" level. I beleive that is called 'fear of commitment'. _________________ The odds are good but the goods are odd. |

I work at one of the largest pool halls in Wisconsin. It relly sucks because we have the berg pouring system. If you don't know what that is it takes all the fun out of bartending. There is no artistry, everything is automatically pre-measured mixed and everything, all I have to do is punch a button and it pours the drink, much like a speed gun.
Anyhow the pay is good and the tips are okay.

| I just started in a spanking new bar called Froggy's Cantina. Our first night was Saturdayand we were spamked from about 9:30 till close. It's a very nice place and every one who came into drink really like the music from the six bands that we hired. The bar is Downtown in Lafayette Louisiana so it's in the middle of a very hot spot. I sure hope that it does well. If any one is ever in these parts of the woods come on down to Froggy's and enjoy yourselves. |

| I just started a new job in a relitively new bar that opened up in town. Its called Revolution and its a vodka bar, we serve over 56 types of vodka and we have over 30 flavours of premade vodka shots. All our cocktails contain some form of vodka but having so many different types and flavours every single one is fantastic!!! so i have now become a bit of a vodka freak. its a great atmosphere and all the staff are up for a laugh. |
