Hi everyone,
I just got my first job as a bartender and I need some tips on how to memorize all these crazy drinks, if anyone has any hints let me know please. I never went to school, but I was a waitress for 10 years and I did bartend at Hooters for 1 year, but thats only beer and wine. Thanks for all your help! |

Just download a cocktail guide and memorize the most popular ones. I doubt you can memorize all the cocktails in the IBA list of you're not a professional bartender. _________________ Bar is open |

If you're new, the best advice is to hang out by the bar before you start working there and see what common drinks are ordered. Watching the bartender make them will also help you remember. You'll be able to experience a nights worth of work without the stress.
Ask for empty bottles. Fill them with water at home and practice actually pouring the drinks out of the correct bottles. This helps muscle memory. |
