Theres a few tips from me imbedded in there too - my favourite way is to make drinks at home for friends. Make a list of five and just do it

Very good advice.
I have my tenders pick a drink they would like to learn and then I put them on "special" for the night. By then end of the evening they will never forget how to make that particualr drink, Particulary if I have some of my more "evil" coustomers, who love to see a rookie tender work hard.
I also have many of the drinks on notecards with their names on the back and we practice with these flashcards/recipie cards, usfull [i:4f67ca321b]and[/i:4f67ca321b] educational

This works for me:
1. [b:2ff33647bd]Glass[/b:2ff33647bd]. Remember the correct glass.
2. [b:2ff33647bd]Method[/b:2ff33647bd]: What method are you useing to make the drink? Eg. Blending,
Shake&Strain or Building.
3. [b:2ff33647bd]Base Spirit[/b:2ff33647bd]: What is the base-spirit? Eg: Bacardi or Vodka.
4. [b:2ff33647bd]Mixer[/b:2ff33647bd]: What are you mixing it with? Eg. Juice or lemonade
5. [b:2ff33647bd]Modifier[/b:2ff33647bd]: What are you useing to enhance the colors and flavours
of your drink? Eg. Grenadine or Lime Cordial.
I have trained over 40 other proffesional bartenders and they all use the same tecnique.
