ok justin.
As far as i know you don't need a bartenders liscense, one was never required for me anyway.
you will probably need to be TABC certified but that is very easy and can be done online even. I have been certified every two years for 14 years now. I live in Tyler and before that San Antonio. I started out with a friends help as a barback but quickly was bartending after almost no time. with so many bartenders out there, competition for the same job is huge so it definately helps to have a friend in the business. My friend taught me alot but mostly it is an "on the job" sort of training.
