You need to be friendly and even-tempered. You can react badly in high stress situations, you must be able to remain calm and stay clear-headed while working behind a bar. In addition, you shouldn't be a person that enjoys drinking too much. (Don't use your own product at work or before work!) You also should be very hard working, bartenders are on their feet serving alcohol for hours - it can put a lot of stress on the body.

Also, you need to be interested in cocktails/drinks because if you are not into it by heart, it's much harder to learn the different cocktails and how to mix them ...
